A former University of Illinois graduate student is suing the school's board of trustees and others, claiming administrators retaliated against her after she accused a visiting researcher of sexual harassment.

  CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - University of Illinois athletes reportedly tested positive for banned drugs 65 times during last school year.  It's more than any school year in at least a decade. A print report cites documents obtained through an information request.  The next highest total in the past 10 years was 52 positive tests in the 2009-2010 year.  The sports with the highest numbers were football, which also has the biggest roster, followed by baseball/softball and basketball. The most common drug was marijuana. Random drug testing has been in place for years.

The University of Illinois' Urbana campus is losing yet another top administrator. Provost Ilesanmi Adesida announced Monday that he's stepping down after three years on the job.

(AP) - The University of Illinois is paying the public relations firm Edelman more than a half-million dollars to develop a campus branding plan and re-examine the school's public affairs structure. The the University of Illinois Foundation, which is in charge of fundraising, is paying for the $550,000 Edelman branding contract. The firm was hired in April as the university prepares for a major fund drive set to begin in 2017. Chancellor Phyllis Wise says the expense is necessary because the right branding is important to the overall campus.

  CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - The University of Illinois has tentatively agreed to a $10 million contract with a national food service company to provide meals for athletes and fans in premium seats at Memorial Stadium and State Farm Center. The five-year, $10 million contract with Sodexo is pending approval of trustees next week.

  URBANA, Ill. (AP) - University of Illinois President Timothy Killeen says the school will put off any consideration of raises for the coming school year until the state budget situation is settled. Gov. Bruce Rauner and Democrats could not agree on a 2016 budget before the fiscal year started Wednesday.

The Illini baseball team has won its first-ever NCAA regional, while also setting a record for wins in a season.  

The American Association of University Professors later this month will decide whether to censure the University of Illinois over the decision not to hire a professor following his anti-Israel tweets.

The University of Illinois now says it plans an independent investigation of allegations that football coach Tim Beckman pressured an injured player to play and that the player was misled about the extent of his injuries.  

The University of Illinois' Chief Financial Officer says the state of Illinois is dragging its credit rating down.
