They no longer had to do it through campaign commercials. Tuesday, Governor Pat Quinn and his Republican opponent Bruce Rauner faced one another in a joint interview before the Chicago Tribune's Editorial Board.

An accusation of wrongdoing in the Illinois governor’s race is drawing a swift rebuke from Republicans today.  The accusation from Democratic Governor Pat Quinn came out of nowhere during a joint appearance before the Chicago Tribune editorial board.

The Illinois State Chamber of Commerce has endorsed a candidate for state treasurer for the first time. CEO Todd Maisch says Republican State Representative and former House Minority Leader Tom Cross is best suited to restore fiscal sanity and grow the state economy.

Criticism about a 'do-nothing' congress doesn't sit well with a member from central Illinois. Rodney Davis says despite pundits calling attention to what might be an historic low for approving laws, this congress can point to some key accomplishments. 

Wednesday, Illinois’ General Assembly will get a new member. Chris Nybo  will take the oath of office, even though the election is still several months away. Elmhurst attorney Chris Nybo will have to beat out Democrat Suzanne Glowiak of Western Springs to win a full term in the State Senate.
