A 3-year-old from Metamora drowned Monday morning in a lake near his family's home.

Luke Rynearson, 3, lived at Lake Wildwood Mobile Home Park on Horseshoe Lane. Family members reported him missing around 7:30 a.m.

Family members said he slipped out without anyone noticing. He was soon found unresponsive and not breathing in a lake.

The child was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood pronounced Rynearson dead just before 10 a.m.

Harwood said there are no signs of trauma or foul play.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood is releasing preliminary autopsy results in two recent homicides in the city of Peoria.

Harwood said Theresa Simmons, 63, suffered blunt force trauma to her head, which caused fractures and severe brain bleeding. Simmons died on Aug. 17 after she was found in her home in the 700 block of W. Loucks Ave. on Aug. 12. 

Her son, Jeremy Simmons, is charged with her death. He's being held on $2 million bond in the Peoria County Jail.

Peoria Police are investigating the death of 49-year-old Ronald Harris. Harris was found Monday about 10:40 a.m. at 1004 W. Virginia.

Police and Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood have been nonspecific on the kind of injuries that caused Harris’s death.

Authorities say foul play is not suspected in the death of a Peoria man found near the Illinois River bank Monday afternoon.  The body of 26-year-old Maurice Wells was discovered just after 2:30 P.M. near Mossville.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Wells’s autopsy was inconclusive. Harwood reports there were no obvious injuries, and based on a review of the temperatures over the past month, it is likely Wells had been in the location where he was found since he went missing. Wells was reported missing in late March.
