Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner's re-election campaign has pulled a TV ad featuring Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who's facing allegations he blackmailed a woman to keep her quiet about their affair.

Missouri's U.S. senators are renewing efforts to get the legendary riverboat the Delta Queen cruising again on the Mississippi River and its tributaries.  Legislation filed by Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill and co-sponsored by Republican Sen. Roy Blunt would reinstate an exemption for the Delta Queen to a federal law that prohibits overnight excursions on wooden vessels.

Illinois health officials are testing feral cats and warning residents to have their pets vaccinated after two outdoor cats tested positive for the disease in northern Illinois and western Missouri.

The Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees has approved a 5% tuition hike for incoming undergraduate students next year.

The Missouri Coalition for the Environment is suing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over plans by the Canadian company Enbridge to build an oil pipeline through four Midwestern states. The pipeline would carry tar sands oil through parts of Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma:  

Value of farmland on the rise

Even though farm income saw a marginal increase between the second quarters of 2012 and 2013, there continued to be a rapid rise in the value of farmland, according to a new report from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis which surveyed agricultural banks in parts of seven Midwestern states, including Missouri and Illinois.
