The Washington City Council is set to open the doors to Tres Rojas Winery.
The council will vote on approving the winery's special use permit to operate on Cruger Road at its meeting Tuesday. The city has already annexed the rural tract to allow it to access municipal water and sewer services. Washington's planning and zoning commission unanimously approved the business' plans last month.
Tres Rojas is currently based in Morton and rural Pekin. The cities of East Peoria and Peoria rebuffed the winery's attempts to set up shop there.
The council is also set to vote on whether or not to allow businesses to add another gaming machine. A recent tweak to state law increases the amount of gambling machines allowed per establishment from 5 to 6.
The council meets at 6:30 p.m. at Five Points Washington.
