  Peoria Journal Star Political Reporter and Columnist Chris Kaergard will no doubt feel lighter after tomorrow. Kaergard has been growing a #budgetbeard since May of last year, when the governor and state lawmakers failed to agree on a budget. But lawmakers finally achieved a stopgap spending last week and that means tomorrow Kaergard will get a clean shave. Peoria Public Radio’s Tanya Koonce talks with him about his lengthy budget beard, the process it’s been and the charity shave where people will pay to help him shed it.

Chris Kaergard’s Charity Shave is at 1:00 Saturday at Menzoil Barbershop on Meadows Avenue in East Peoria. People can make a donation of their choosing and help clip his beard that will in turn help four community social service agencies
