Mar 16, 2021

The Tri-County area reported 70 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours on Tuesday.

That brings the region's total case count to 35,152 since the first COVID-19 cases were identified in the region just over a year ago.

No new deaths are reported.

There are 11 people in an area ICU for treatment of COVID, and an additional 24 patients hospitalized outside intensive care.

More than 151,000 residents of the Tri-County area have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination.

More than 58,000 residents of Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties are considered fully vaccinated.

Peoria County still outpaces the rest of the state on some overall metrics, including vaccinations of the 65 or older population, where more than 90 percent are vaccinated. About 20 percent of the county's 16-to-64 population are vaccinated.
