The Tri-County region is reporting 1,059 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend.
This also includes 12 more deaths across Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties, bringing the region's COVID-19 death toll to 194 people.
Peoria County said eight people, ranging in age from their 60s to their 90s, died over the weekend from COVID-19 complications. Three lived at Heritage, and one each at Bickford and Gateway. The other three were not residents of long-term care facilities.
In Tazewell County, two residents of Generations at Riverview in East Peoria died over the weekend, as well as one resident in her 60s who was not living at a long-term care facility.
In Woodford County, a woman in her 80s at Eureka Apostolic died from COVID-19 complications.
Currently, 166 people are hospitalized for COVID in one of the Peoria area's four major hospitals. Thirty-seven of those patients are in intensive care.
Just over 27 percent of the region's total COVID-19 patients are isolating at home. About 70 percent are considered recovered.
State health officials said more than 11,600 people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. An additional 37 people died statewide.
The state's positivity rate is now 14.7%.
