WCBU's On Deck has everything you need to know to start your day for Thursday, March 11, 2021. Our top story is about how Tazewell County is honoring its Underground Railroad conductors with new grave markers. You'll also hear from double-lung transplant recipient, Mayra Ramirez. In the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic the 28-year-old contracted the virus and ended up in the ICU. The virus severely damaged her lungs and her doctors concluded she would not survive the virus, unless she got a double lung transplant. In June, Mayra became the first U.S. patient to undergo the life-saving procedure. You'll get an update on what she's been through this past year.
