Leave a legacy for your community by including WCBU in your will or other planned or deferred gift instrument. You will help ensure WCBU can continue to provide the outstanding news, information and entertainment services at the heart of our public service mission.
WCBU is a joint service of Bradley University and Illinois State University. Your planned or deferred gift is made to Illinois State University and then designated to WCBU. WCBU works in close cooperation with the University’s Office of Planned Giving to give you the best information available on planned and deferred giving options.
The most common way to make a planned gift to WCBU is by making a bequest to the station in your will or trust. This allows you to make a lasting contribution without affecting your current financial security and freedom. And, whether you wish to donate your entire estate, a portion of your estate, a fixed dollar amount, or a percentage of your assets, bequests are easy to make.
An example of bequest language: “I give, devise and bequeath (________percentage, or the residue of my estate, or $________) to Illinois State University Foundation (tax ID 37-6014070), its successors or assigns, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, to further the objectives and purposes of WCBU Public Radio. Please make all charitable contributions from income in respect to the decedent (IRD)."

Please consult your attorney, CPA or financial planner before making any decisions regarding your gift planning. We would be happy to provide your financial planner any information they may need on making a planned or deferred gift to WCBU through Illinois State University.
No matter how you choose to give, know that you will be making a real difference for the future of WCBU and the future of your community. For more information on bequests and other planned or deferred gifts to WCBU, please contact Jennifer Armstrong at (309) 438-3581.
