Anthony L. Jackson, 27 is being held on $2 million bond for the shooting death of his uncle, Timothy Jackson.
The details of the deadly disagreement are not completely clear. But 43-year-old Timothy Jackson was apparently stabbed about 3:45 a.m. Thursday, in a fight at the same location he was shot to death less than three hours later.
Police says they were called to the 600 block of West Wilcox for the earlier fight but found no one upon arrival. Timothy showed up at the hospital with cuts to his are and torso. He was treated, released and reportedly uncooperative with officers.
Police say immediately after he left the hospital, Timothy Jackson returned to the 600 block of Wilcox where Shotspotter identified seven shots fired about 6:30 a.m.
The Peoria County State's Attorney's office says police also have video from the scene that shows a grey Impala, thought to be driven by Anthony. The car is reportedly driving past Timothy's vehicle and shots are visible from the driver's side window of the Impala.
Timothy was found slumped over the wheel of the car. The Peoria County Coroner says he was hit five times, sustaining four bullets to the head, chest and torso and likely died instantly.
Anthony Jackson is facing multiple charges for the stabbing and shooting death of older Jackson. He is due back in court July 5th.
This is the second Peoria gun homicide this week. The death of the 22-year-old shot and killed in Taft homes is not thought to be related. Peoria’s seen nine murders so far this year.
