Monday, September 10 through mid-October

Erosion control near the bridge crossing Lost Creek on Illinois 29 may result in lane closures at times. Completion of the weather-dependent work is expected in October.

 

 Thursday, August 30 through mid-September

Shoulder repair on Cedar Hills Road will reduce the pavement to one traffic lane between Allen Road and Legion Hall Road. Flaggers will control traffic between 8:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m daily. The weather-dependent work is expected to take two weeks.

Through Mid-October

Princeville Jubilee Road is closed between IL Route 90 and Douglas Street in the Village of Princeville. Detour signs are posted on Laura Road, Duncan Road, and IL Route 90. The road construction is expected to be complete in October.

Through November

Lane reductions are in place on the Illinois 17 Bridge over Indian Creek. One lane will be open at all times with traffic controlled by temporary signals while the bridge replacement is completed. Work is expected to be complete by the end of November, weather permitting.

 

Thursday, August 16th

Illinois Route Eight in Edwards is closed. The Illinois Department of Transportation says one of the concrete piers on the bridge that carries the road over railroad tracks has advanced deterioration and must be reinforced. The repair is expected to take several weeks. A detour is posted.

Through late November

Most of the Northmoor Road intersection in front of Richwoods High School from Imperial Drive to west of the intersection with Rosemead Drive is open for local traffic. But that road construction project continues. This phase will last until late November 2018, when Northmoor Road will be reopened to traffic for the winter.

Monday through Friday - Through Mid-September

Turbine parts are being transported through downtown East Peoria between 1:30 a.m. to 5 or 6. The giant turbine parts will be moved from TP&W railroad. That will cause road closures on North Main from Washington to Camp Streets and on West Washington from Columbia to Main Streets. Additional wind turbine transport trucks will be moving between 9 a.m. and noon each day. The oversized specialty transports are expected through mid-September.

Through August

Lane closures are in effect for both directions of U.S. 24 and Illinois Route 9 for paving work. The resurfacing and paving project will also include traffic signal improvements at Pfeiffer Rd. Access to homes and businesses will be retained. Motorists can expect delays during this time.

 

Through September

Akron Road between IL Route 40 and IL Route 91, will be closed to all traffic for construction of a new bridge crossing a branch of Kickapoo Creek.

Through September

Traffic patterns have changed on the Shade-Lohmann Bridge. The changes are necessary for IDOT crews to repaint the structure that carries eastbound I-474/U.S. 24 over the Illinois River between Bartonville and Creve Coeur. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the westbound bridge, and lane closures may also be in effect. Please drive with caution and watch for workers.  

 

Through October

Motorist can expect lane closures and construction at various locations on Interstate 74 and Interstate 474 this summer and into fall. Those impacted areas on I-74 are from Main Street to Morton Avenue, from Pleasant Hill Road to Washington Street and from Sterling Avenue to the 4-74 interchange. The I-474 construction will cover the east and westbound ramps connecting with I-74 at Route 6.

 

Through Late Fall

Portions of the Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport’s entrance road will be reduced to one lane. Passengers can access the overflow lot and Premier Lot via a temporary entrance during construction. Signs, directing traffic, will be posted.

 

Through November

The total reconstruction of Old Galena Road from Cedar Hills Drive to Boy Scout Road continues. Motorists are advised to watch for flaggers and lane closures and expect delays.  

 

 

Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
