Peoria County Board may vote to stop using county's health plan

Sep 2, 2013

The Peoria County Board will consider taking all board members off of the county’s health plan starting in 2014.  The resolution approved in committee would end the plan.  Currently only two board members out of 18 use the county’s health benefits.  That costs the County about 24-thousand-dollars annually.

Those in favor of terminating the health plan say board members don’t work enough hours a week as public officials to qualify for the benefits.
