The City of Peoria's response to the flooded Illinois River is the topic of this Outside the Horseshoe.

Scott Reeise is a Public Works Engineer with the City. He was instrumental in creating Peoria’s flood wall. Public Works Manager David Haste is overseeing its maintenance and the city’s general flood response efforts. Both men are guest on this Outside the Horseshoe.

The city of Peoria is revising the requirements for developing new subdivisions and redeveloping parts of the city. It’s called the Infrastructure Design Standards/Manual of practice guidelines. The Peoria City Council discusses the proposed changes during a policy session Tuesday, March 19th. We preview that discussion on this Outside the Horseshoe. The City of Peoria launches its new website Wednesday, but it was recently released in a soft launch. We’re talking with the city’s new Chief Information Officer, Sam Rivera, and Rachel Cook who coordinates Technical Support for the city and headed-up the project.
